Tuesday 27th September - Windsurf **** - River Orwell at Levington – sunny periods.

Foil – 19.75 knot max, 18.63 knot ave ., 11.64 knot hour, 15.54 knot mile, 43.29 km ., 15.57 knot alpha.

Starboard Freeride 150 and an Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham Thunderbird 6.5.

After visiting the River Stour twice in the last three days I swopped one gusty venue for another today going to Levington Marina, the good thing being it is much closer to home saving loads of diesel and travelling time:) It was a good high water today, 1.30 and I arrived at the marina around 9.45 with loads of water so I quickly set up my foil board, it did not look overly windy out on the river and nearly rigged 7.5 but went for 6.5 in the end and was glad I did as there was gusts to 20 knots! With the wind probably WNW it meant another day of gybing as I was doing lots of short runs in front of the marina and a little way down towards Felixstowe docks as you do run out of wind the further to sail down! I did about 70 gybes today only going in once, but I did crash while tying to go fast, not easy as it was fairly lumpy, I did not hurt myself but Mag said when I got home that my eye was bloodshot, which then prevented me giving blood at 6 o clock:( My foil gybing is coming along nicely now especially when the wind is up, I just need to work on my turning in lighter winds to keep flying! So, a nice couple of hours, just me, a few yachts and a seal, a little bit of sunshine, then a lovely hot shower and home before two giving me time to send a couple of todays pics to the local TV weather before visiting an old fiend for a cuppa and cake:)
Then to make the day even better the lovely Chis Page featured one of my pics on ITV’s About Anglia:)
Some big winds coming Fri/Sat/Sun, might even be able to get out on my fin board!
